“Health requires Healthy Foods.”
Fruit being a healthy snack full of vitamins and high fibre, the children are given a banana, an orange, watermelon, or an apple in the afternoon.
Conscious of the fact that milk is a nutritious drink with calcium and micro-nutrients, all school children are given a glass of milk on arrival.
A hot, nutritious mid-day meal is provided to the children by the school, consisting of daal or mixed vegetable curry, salad or raita. Children bring chapatis from home. Rice or pulao is served occasionally. When a special lunch is provided by a donor, the lunch consists of vegetable pulao, with a dessert which may consist of sheera, kheer, halwa or jalebi.
