Aims and Objective of this project
This program aims to provide support and facilities through the medium of education and empowerment to develop skills and resources in our ex-students to bring out their best potential to make them productive members of society living with dignity and respect.
The Need for this project
The percentage of school dropouts of students integrated into mainstream schools has always been a cause for concern at SEC Day School. This high rate of dropouts is essentially due to lack of infrastructure for mobility in mainstream schools. Also, mainstream schools lack the infrastructure to look into the special needs of students with disabilities.
About the Program
The vocational department focuses on creating a livelihood for students with severe disabilities. Here, we provide training to make the following products. Knowledge of making these products would provide them skills for a home based business opportunity. Making of paper bags Making of gift envelopes Flower making Toran making and bead work Candle Making
Conversational English classes
English is not a language spoken in our student’s homes. In today’s world Conversational English is a necessity. We conduct Conversational English classes, which benefits the ex-student in communication at the work place and builds their confidence.
We educate our school students upto the 7th standard and encourage them to continue their education in regular mainstream schools. Due to lack of infrastructure and special need requirements in regular schools, many of the students become drop outs and do not complete their education.
